Camper in Trouble

I don't entertain a lot in my home. Probably because I find it stressful, and feel responsible for my guest's entertainment experience. Call me co-dependent

Of course this carries over into blogging...

So, naturally when I reach out to other bloggers and ask them to participate in an event...I feel the need to support them as much as possible. The emails really do fly around behind the scenes. I want EVERYONE to have a good time and be successful. Recently, I was referred to as a Blog Camp Counselor

Well there is a camper in trouble! Jennifer from The Pink Pagoda entered the Paint a Rug Party by her own free will. She wants to paint a runner for her daughter's hallway. One problem, she can't find one in cotton like the larger Ikea one she already has. Who would enter a rug painting party without a rug to paint?

Can you tell what this co-dependent Camp Counselor is about to do?

You guessed it

I even added her signature blue & white to the picture.

Time for another Ikea hack. Here is what you will need, campers.

The white duct tape is really the key! Start with a cotton rug on the WRONG side
Decide on your width...Jennifer wanted 39", so I placed temporary tape at that exact measurement (outside line)

Do the same thing at the other end of the rug...connect the outside edges with a straight edge. You will want to cut both sides of the rug for uniformed sides

Next, I ran the duct tape along the outside edge of the line. Note how crooked the manufactured edge is....we can do better than that.

Using a straight edge, again...and leaving plenty of tape left on the rug, make a line on the tape

Cut along the line

Then you have this
Not done yet....Jennifer, are you still with me?

I am so glad this does not fit my hallway. If it did, I would have to tell her that I tried to hack a rug, but was unsuccessful...because, I would totally keep it!

And now for the stylized shot
The rug is in the mail, Jennifer. She knows I'm not painting it for her....doesn't she? The moral of this story is....be careful who you party with. Now if you will excuse me, I have a rug of my own to paint.

It's Almost Here!

I am soooo excited! This will be here today

My iPhone 5 in white

According to FedEx....it is in Newark, NJ and arriving in my small town today.

What won't be here today, is this :(

My Pink Pagoda iPhone 5 cover. I forgot to order it.

I am blaming this one on the kids who continually distract me when it is time to do important {to me} things. Why do I need to do Algebra AGAIN?

I'm Turning Hot Pink

No, I'm not blushing....I am officially hooked on the hot pink craze. I don't know how it happened. I usually think of pink for a young girl's room. I know... that color is everywhere right now, so maybe that had something to do with it? I recently purchased this bag from Anthropologie

It is a much brighter pink in person...and the band on the bottom is pink, not yellow.  I think I am going to use it as an accessory in my home....like this

Apt T

If I do this, I will need to find a few other hot pink items to add to the room....I think the rule is 3 of a color? Anybody know? Here are some items that caught my eye

Pink Pagoda Accessories

My friend, Jennifer from the blog The Pink Pagoda has beautiful prints. My Custom Pink Pagoda Frame post that I did five months ago, still remains one of my all time most popular. I have featured some of Jennifer's work here, here, here...and here. I guess I really love her sense of design.

Jennifer is branching out and designing other items. She has some cool products on Zazzle. Like this iPhone case

or pillows

Here comes the group participation part....Jennifer wants to know what other products she could design and create using her images...HOW FUN!! If you are not familiar with her images, you can get a crash refresher course here. I love giving people my opinion....so, Jennifer...how about these ideas (all with your own images, of course)

Pagoda Time!

If you have not guessed by now...I love pagodas! To me, they say "happy chinoiserie". Pagodas add that extra touch of whimsy to a room. As my blogger friend  Jessie, from the blog Mix and Chic, says...."the global eclectic look is so chic these days".

Here are some of my pagoda favorites from Etsy....of course!
