One Room Challenge Linking Event
It was so nice to hear from so many of you in response to the One Room Challenge Linking Event. I know many of you have never participated in a link-up so I would like to offer some suggestions.
First, a quick thank you to all the bloggers who helped spread the word. I hope I didn't miss any of the posts...shoot me an email if I did and I will be happy to add you to the list.

I'll talk about the button first. The purpose and use of the button is to help guide the readers to your room. Many people will come by and visit you on a day when your room may not be on your front page. If you place this button on your sidebar (treat it like an image) and link it to your post, then readers can click on it and get directed to your room.
Just copy and save this so you can place it on your blog.
Each week you can go in and 'edit' your original post to include updates. Here is an example.
Now let's talk about how to link up. If you have already done one of these, then you know how easy it is.
First, you need to have a published post. I would recommend that you come by on Wednesday, October 2nd and check out all the participants. I'm sure you will want to do that anyway. Look at how they laid out their plans, discussed their options and shared their ideas. This should give you some ideas for writing your post on your room. Publish it.
On Thursday, October 3rd come by and link your room post up.
This is what it will look like (I borrowed this from Kim). Click on the "Add your link".
Then you will see this. Two things to remember, you need your post URL, not your blog. To get your post URL, click on the title of your post and then copy that address.
Here is the URL from my ORC Finale last time. You can see how it is a specific URL.
The other thing to remember is that you want to title it....My Living Room Makeover...My Master Bath, etc.
By titling your specific room, you will give readers a clear way to follow your progress. People looking for living room ideas will want to check out the living rooms....and so on.
Next, you will see this. You are being given the choice to select the image from your post you would like displayed in the link.
You can also crop the image by clicking on the 'crop' under your selected image.
After this point, just click on the finishing choices. It really is self explanatory.
Here's the schedule of Link up's along with a suggested guideline.
October 3rd - Tell us your plan and show us your space.
October 10th - What did you accomplish or learn?
October 17th - Any great shopping tips or diy's you want to share?
October 24th - Did you need to make any changes to your plan? How's it going?
October 31st - Are you still with us? Are you happy/sad about any of your choices?
November 7th - You made it. Even if you are not totally finished, you are further than you were six weeks ago!
You may have noticed that you actually have two more weeks before you need to start showing some results. See, not so scary :)
I hope I have answered your questions and I really hope I see all of your rooms on Thursday, October 3rd. Now go tell your friends because it really is more fun when you have people encouraging you.
